Welcome
to Stelor
Welcome to our little piece of Gotland
Stelor is our Gotlandic farm stay, 25 minutes south of Visby. The farm features 7 relaxing and cozy rooms in the original stone farm house from the 1820s, a renovated barn (perfect for weddings and parties) and kitchen garden where we harvest vegetables everyday.
It's the place where we gather all the things we love about Gotland; wild flowers for the tables, fresh produce from our neighbors and work by local artists for the hotel room walls. There's so much to discover on Gotland, which is why we never have to go too far to find things we need and love.
The Stelor family is more than just our own. It's Elin & Ellie, who runs the farm with us. It's Janne who helped us establish our kitchen garden. And all the awesome local producers who help us create something delicious, cozy and special, so you can sleep, eat, marry and meet at Stelor.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
At Stelor, we are passionate about working with what surrounds us and strive to create the most sustainable and authentic experience of Gotland possible. In each room, we've invited a Gotland artist we admire to showcase their art. The cups you sip your coffee from are crafted by a local ceramic artist, the linens are, of course, organic, and our skincare products come from Care of Gerd, a Swedish brand that manufactures organic products without the unnecessary stuff.
Sustainability is close to our hearts at Stelor. We may be a bit idealistic, but we believe that for the sake of nature and future generations, we must rethink how and what we eat. That's why at Stelor, you won't find an à la carte menu in our restaurant. Instead, we usually have a chalkboard menu that follows the seasons and is made from what our five collaborating farmers have harvested and raised. We think it tastes better that way, not only in flavor but also because we persistently believe it's possible to create a delightful experience without leaving a large footprint for future generations to contend with.
This also means that, for instance, we don't serve orange juice for breakfast. Instead, we find it more luxurious to offer a delicious apple must pressed from the apples of autumn. Our jams and preserves are made from surplus fruit from our local grocer and, of course, whatever we manage to pick during the summer and fall.
We're happy and proud to be one of the restaurants evaluated for gastronomy and sustainability in the 360 EAT GUIDE (Feel free to learn more about it here:https://360eatguide.com). We're also part of the Gotland initiative, Sustainable Plejs, where, alongside other colleagues in the industry, we strive to develop ourselves and each other, including through the manifesto posted outside our door (Learn more about us here:https://gotland.com/sustainableplejs/).
Over summer, from June 15 to August 31, everyone is welcome to join us nightly for our summer harvest dinners. Starting at 18:30, the dinner features at least three courses, using produce picked fresh that day from our garden and from our neighbours. We have delicious options for vegetarians and Stelor is the perfect place for children to eat, play and run around while you enjoy an extra glass of wine.
